8th Month of Pregnancy - Time Skip)
The calendar pages had flown faster than they realized. The once subtle baby bump had bloomed into a full curve of life, round and beautiful beneath YN's soft maternity shirt. She was now in her eighth month of pregnancy, glowing and radiant, but also a whirlwind of emotions-especially today.
The day had started peacefully: a slow breakfast, soft music, and Jungkook staying home to finish up work reports while staying close to her. That was the plan. He'd promised he wouldn't leave her alone, and technically-he didn't. He was still sitting beside her on the bed, laptop propped open, fingers moving fast on the keys, lips murmuring quietly as he read something from the screen.
But to YN, it wasn't enough.
"Jungkook..." she whined softly from the other end of the bed, pulling her legs up and letting out a dramatic sigh.
He hummed distractedly, not even looking up. "Hmm? Yeah, baby? I'm here."
"No, you're not," she muttered, folding her arms with a pout that would've made any toddler jealous. Her eyes glared at the laptop screen like it was her enemy. "You're physically here, but your heart is in that stupid file."
Jungkook blinked, still typing. "Just five more minutes, I swear. I'm about to finish-"
Before he could finish, YN stood up with a determined breath, waddling slowly but purposefully toward him. She gently took the laptop off his lap and placed it on the bedside table without a word.
Then, without hesitation, she climbed onto his lap-her baby bump pressing into his torso as she settled herself, her arms wrapping around his neck. Her face buried in the crook of his neck like it was the only place that felt right.
Jungkook froze for a second, surprised-but not annoyed.
He let out a soft laugh, wrapping his arms around her gently, adjusting his grip to support her back and waist.
"Someone's feeling clingy today," he whispered with a smile, placing a kiss on her temple.
"I'm allowed to be," she mumbled into his skin. "I'm carrying your baby. And my back hurts. And my feet are swollen. And I feel fat. And you were ignoring me for your stupid spreadsheets."
Jungkook tilted his head back slightly to look at her face, his heart melting at the expression she wore-teary-eyed and dramatic, but so painfully beautiful.
"You're not fat, baby. You're glowing. And you're literally the most beautiful human I've ever seen-especially when you're being all needy and bratty," he said, his voice dipped in warmth and teasing affection.
YN tried not to smile, but her lips curved up anyway.
He cupped her cheeks and made her look into his eyes. "I'm sorry, okay? I shouldn't have let the screen steal me from you. You come first-always."
She nodded, resting her forehead against his. "I just needed you. That's all."
"I'm here now," he whispered, holding her closer. "And I'm not going anywhere."
They stayed like that-tangled, close, content. Jungkook rubbed gentle circles on her back, occasionally leaning in to press soft kisses along her jaw, her cheek, her forehead. His laptop stayed forgotten, and the only thing that mattered now was the way her heartbeat matched his, slow and steady, and the tiny flutter of their baby moving between them.
It was messy, it was emotional, it was real.
And it was theirs.
---
YN stayed in his lap, nuzzling into his neck like it was the only thing keeping her grounded. His warmth, his scent, his steady breathing-it was everything she needed today.
But then, she tilted her head and began placing soft kisses on his skin.
A kiss on his cheek.
Then another near his temple.
One near his jawline.
Then just beside his nose.
Jungkook chuckled, the sound low and sweet as his hands gently caressed her back.
"Are you trying to distract me more, hmm?" he asked, voice teasing, but his eyes melted at the sight of her affection.
"I'm appreciating you," she mumbled innocently, kissing the edge of his brow. "Because you're mine."
He smiled, leaning into her touches like a lovesick fool. But even as her lips moved around his face, she deliberately avoided his lips. That pouty little mouth stayed away from his.
He noticed.
"Oh, so you're kissing everything but my lips now?" he raised a brow playfully
"Hmm," she shrugged, eyes mischievous. "I'm saving the best for later."
Jungkook chuckled again, shaking his head before brushing his nose against hers. "That's not fair, baby. My lips are jealous now."
YN grinned. "Good. Let them suffer like I did when you were ignoring me."
He laughed and hugged her tighter, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"Alright, alright. Then let me say something..."
She looked up at him, waiting.
Jungkook gazed at her with so much softness it could melt the strongest heart.
"Kiss your babies' daddy, mommy," he whispered, a slight pout of his own on his lips.
YN's smile faded into something warmer, deeper. She blinked slowly, her heart flipping at his words.
And without another word, she leaned in and finally pressed her lips against his.
It wasn't rushed. It wasn't desperate.
It was slow, soft, and filled with unspoken promises-of love, of family, of forever.
Jungkook kissed her back just as gently, one hand holding the back of her head, the other resting protectively over her bump.
Their baby moved inside her just then-a tiny nudge, like it knew mommy and daddy were wrapped in love.
And in that kiss, it wasn't just the two of them.
It was three hearts beating together.
One love. One home. One future.
---
After that soft, soul-deep kiss, Jungkook rested his forehead against hers, his eyes fluttering shut for a moment as he simply breathed her in.
But then, he slowly lowered himself, sliding from beneath her and guiding her gently to lie down on the couch, her back cushioned with pillows.
Without a word, he knelt in front of her swollen belly and placed both hands on it lovingly, his thumbs caressing small circles as if their babies could feel his touch.
He smiled softly and leaned forward, pressing a tender kiss to her bump.
"Hi my little ones..." his voice was low and full of warmth. "Appa's here."
YN watched him, her eyes glassy with emotion.
Jungkook kissed her belly again, resting his cheek gently against it as he spoke like he was talking to two little people who were listening carefully.
"Mommy's being very moody today," he chuckled playfully, glancing up at YN with a wink. "But that's okay. You know why? Because she's doing all the hard work-keeping you both safe, warm, and close to her heart."
He pressed another kiss.
"You two better be good to her when you come out, okay? No trouble. No crying all night. No kicking her ribs when she's trying to sleep."
YN giggled, placing her hand on his head, her fingers threading through his hair lovingly.
Jungkook smiled and kissed her belly again, this time right in the center.
"I hope you both get her heart. Her laughter. Her strength. And maybe just a little bit of your dad's handsome face, hmm?"
That made YN laugh again, a tear slipping down her cheek. "You're unbelievable, Jeon Jungkook."
He looked up, eyes sparkling.
"Unbelievably in love with you."
And just then-like a response-the babies kicked.
Jungkook gasped slightly and pressed his ear to her belly, eyes wide. "Yah! Did you feel that?!"
YN nodded, her hand resting over his. "They heard your voice... and they responded."
He stayed there, still and silent for a moment, before whispering again to her bump, "Appa loves you. And he can't wait to hold you both. But until then... stay cozy in there and keep mommy company, okay?"
